Here in Texas we have many Thanksgiving traditions , among them are Fried Turkeys , The Texas A&M verses University of Texas annual duel , Shiner bock ,and Blue Bell Ice cream .
So I wake up early on thursday to my normal feelings of being deliriously sane , normally crazy ,rapturously unhappy ,joypusly angst-ridden and get dressed in my trendily out dated fashion of 501 jeans ,flops and an Aggie t-shirt. I immediately proceed to cook bacon, pancakes and fluffy eggs ,smelling the food one by one the three menstrualteers come out and raid the food pile and slip back into the dark side of being teenagers with a series of grunts , groans and arghs...to all questions asked.
Never mind I think and proceed to prepare Turkey, stuffed pork chops , yams,sweet potatoes,mash potatoes ,corn , Cajun rice , stuffing,sweet rolls , gravy ,baked bread, brownies , apple pie and pumpkin pie.Slowly they dark ones emerge from the marathon of the Vampire Diaries, sit down and eat .Grumbling under thier breathe, about the relationships of Tv charaters , one of the dark notices that ...yes Dad has committed a cardinal sin and forgot Cranberry sauce !!!After 7 hours of solid cooking !!!!! Yes I did forget it !!!!Should I be cast into Teenage Hell for such a crime !!! I am unsure but with my frying pan in one hand and long wooden stirring spoon in the other I fend them off and talk them out of BBQ'ing me right on the spot,besides after eating me I dont think I would sit well with them if I dont sit well with them when I am alive.
After eating I say thats it! no more food run and hide my rats ... and slowly open the freezer and bring out the BLUE BELL ICECREAM [yes teenagers still get a kick out of the right ice cream]
I ask politely if anyone wants to help me clear the table and start the dishes as I take the first bite straight from the tub , in an instant the table is cleaned and with bowls in hand they proceed to devour the first and second tub of Blue Bell .
While walking away ,my eldest and youngest both turn and say "Thanks Pop , you are the best"while my middle one looks up and smiles with a thumbs up .
I slowly turn and smile to myself , life is good on my island , at Amigo movil and www.tekna-impact.com
